This is a great film for racing fans as well as non racing fans.
I was able to go the Premier showing of this film last night at the Palace Theater.
It is about 1 ½ hours long. It chronicles the journey of six trainers in their quest to get to the 2006 Kentucky Derby. These trainers include Dale Romans (Sharp Humor), Bob Holthus (Lawyer Ron) , Kiaran McLaughlin (Jazil), Michael Matz (Barbaro), Dan Hendricks (Brother Derek), and Frank Amonte (Achilles of Troy). It brings to life the various personalities of the horses, trainers, and track. It also highlights to pure spectacle of Derby Day. Anyway, it is entertaining.
One more positive, 25% of each ticket sale will be donated to the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation which provide major grants to various universities for equine research. For example since 1983, the Grayson Jockey Club Research Foundation has given University of Kentucky 2.7 million dollars in grants for equine research.
Happy Derby!!!!
